Help! Why am I putting weight on and what can I do about it?

One of the many symptoms that you may experience during perimenopause is weight gain. Between the onset of perimenopause and your last period, an average of 2 to 4 kg might creep onto your body gradually and unexpectedly as we enter the menopause transition. A lot of ladies find that this extra weight creeps on around the tummy area.

Menopause weight gain may occur because our bodies slowly and gradually ease up on the production of estrogen, testosterone and progesterone. These hormones play a part in regulating our appetite and our energy levels.

This shift in our hormone levels brings on a host of other physical changes that prompts menopausal weight gain.

Leading us all to ask: Why do women gain weight during menopause?

I recently did a webinar on menopause and weight gain so if you want to learn more about why this may happen and some easy tips you can start doing today then have a listen to the below recording.

Just remember to focus on your health not your weight. Getting healthy is not a 2 week process it’s a change of lifestyle.
