Breaking the Silence: Why Conversations About Perimenopause and Menopause Matter
This week, I had the privilege of joining the panel discussion on Perimenopause & Menopause in Women’s Health, hosted by the incredible Melissa Crook. It was an open, honest, and much-needed conversation about what it really means to navigate this stage of life—both personally and within society.
Why These Conversations Matter
For too long, menopause has been either whispered about or dismissed altogether. But times are changing. Women are speaking up, sharing their experiences, and demanding better support—whether that’s in healthcare, the workplace, or simply within their own homes.
In this podcast, we delved into:
✔️ Personal experiences—how menopause affects every woman differently and why no two journeys are the same
✔️ The power of awareness—understanding symptoms beyond just hot flushes and irregular periods
✔️ The societal shift—how better conversations lead to better healthcare, policies, and support systems
✔️ What needs to change—from medical training to workplace policies, we explored the gaps that need filling
Menopause: A Time for Empowerment, Not Silence
One of the most important takeaways from this discussion was the reminder that perimenopause and menopause are not things to be ‘fixed’—they are natural transitions that deserve understanding, support, and empowerment.
Too often, women are left feeling isolated, unheard, or simply unprepared. But by talking about it openly, sharing real-life experiences, and pushing for change, we can rewrite the narrative.
