Navigating Menopause with Positivity and Humour: My Guest Appearance on the Just Jelly Podcast

I recently had the pleasure of joining Jennifer Board on her fabulous Just Jelly podcast, where we delved into a topic close to my heart: menopause. In this episode, we navigated the ups and downs of menopause with a positive outlook and a dash of humour. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the physical or emotional changes that come with this stage of life, this conversation is definitely for you!

Breaking the Taboo of Menopause

Menopause is often seen as a taboo subject, something we don’t talk about openly. But, as Jennifer and I discussed, it’s something every woman will go through, and we believe it’s time to start normalising this conversation. Whether it’s night sweats, hot flashes, or those mood swings that seem to come out of nowhere, these are all common experiences that should be talked about openly.

During the episode, we touched on how to face these changes with self-compassion, understanding that menopause is a natural stage of life, not something to be feared or avoided. Jennifer and I both agree that with the right knowledge and mindset, menopause can be a time of personal growth and empowerment.

Hot Flashes, Hormones, and Laughter

Of course, we had to talk about the infamous hot flashes! It’s something many women dread, but we offered some practical tips on how to handle them—ranging from lifestyle tweaks like cooling your bedroom at night, to nutrition strategies to help balance your hormones. These symptoms may be unavoidable, but how we respond to them can make a world of difference.

Jennifer and I had a few laughs about how unpredictable menopause can be, but we also discussed the importance of emotional support. Having someone to share your experiences with, whether a friend or a group, can really ease the mental load.

Empowerment Through Knowledge

Menopause isn’t just about physical symptoms—it’s about the emotional and psychological shifts as well. We explored how understanding the hormonal changes in our bodies can help us take control. I shared tips on how nutrition and lifestyle changes can support hormone balance and improve your overall well-being.

This episode was all about empowerment. Instead of dreading menopause, we can embrace it as an opportunity to focus on ourselves, make positive health changes, and step into the next chapter of life with confidence.
