Almond Butter and Beetroot Smoothie
Beetroots are great to incorporate into our diets for anti-inflammatory and detoxification benefits. They have also been shown to lower high blood pressure and improve both digestive health. Here’s a favourite smoothie recipe of mine using beetroots. Enjoy!
Almond Butter and Beetroot Smoothie
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
2 cups almond milk
1-2 steamed or roasted medium beetroots
2 tablespoons almond butter/cashew butter
1/2 cup frozen chopped zucchini or cauliflower
Handful of walnuts.
Juice of half a lemon (about 2 tablespoons)
Simply combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until thick and creamy. You may adjust for your desired thickness by adding more liquid.
